IT IS EASTER SUNDAY! TIME FOR CELEBRATIONS.. AND OVER-EATING OF CHOCOLATE!
We mean the small gooey Easter eggs.. How do you eat yours?
Here's our BELBIN take on how each Team Role might eat theirs.
Do you recognise yourself in any of these descriptions? How do you eat yours? And, how about those around you?
Shaper
In two bites. There’s no time for anything else, even if I do feel a bit unwell afterwards.

Teamworker
I don't have an egg to eat. Why? Because my colleague was feeling a bit under the weather, so I gave mine to him.

Completer Finisher
Well, I will of course make mine last the whole afternoon – I eat it nibble by nibble for full sugar impact. And I put the foil in the recycling bin – every little helps.

Resource Investigator
Funny you should ask. I have the new limited edition one that I managed to get hold of as my friend's husband's brother works in their marketing department… I’ll only eat it once I’ve posted a picture on Instagram. And if I haven’t sold it for a profit…

Monitor Evaluator
Hmmm, it depends – you must take quite a few factors into account. These include but are not limited to - How soon is it before dinner? Is there another one in the fridge? Is it so warm that it will melt before I eat it all? Will it cause a mess on my shirt if it does melt? Am I about to go in to a meeting? Once I’ve considered the variables, I’ll let you know.

Implementer
I cut it into rough quarters, wrap each one up in cling film and put it back into the fridge. Then I have one quarter at 10.30, the next at lunch, one at 3pm (with my afternoon tea), and the last one before I get home. It’s the same every year.

Specialist
Sorry, is it Easter? Really? Oh, OK. Look, is this important? I’m half way through a 2-hour seminar on the importance of Crystallization and Polymorphism of Fats and Fatty Acids…

Plant
I warm mine in the oven with a smidgeon of cinnamon and a spoonful of brandy. Once melted I spread it on some well buttered granary toast. Lovely.

Co-ordinator
We eat ours as a team. I send Bob to buy them, Paul to work out when everyone is free, and ask Jo to make sure there is a spare meeting room so that we can all eat them together.

Which ever way you enjoyed your Easter Chocolate eggs.. have a good time ahead in the year!
For those new to BELBIN, remember a Team Role is not a stereotype.. All of us are capable of all nine Team Roles. You could have eaten your chocolates in more ways than one.. And that is okay! For many of us, two or three Team Roles are most preferred. For a few of us, such preferences may not be so pronounced, and that is okay too. Because behaviour is not personality. Behaviour is situational, and is flexible. And when it is a celebration, you are allowed to be a bit unusual! Cheers!
